Mr. Hayes, from the Committee on Finance, reportd
favorably,

Ordered by the Senate, That the balance of the
salary for this session of the Senate, which would have
been due the late Senator Talbott, if he had lived, be
paid to his widow, Mrs. E. T. Talbott.

Which was adopted.

And, favorably,

Ordered, That the President and Secretary of the
Senate and the members of the Engrossing Committee
receive severally, for their services, in enrolling and
signing bills in the recess of the General Assembly,
the same compensation as was allowed for the same
services at the last session of the General Assembly,
and that the Chairman of the Committee designate
the clerks to be employed, and that such clerks shall
receive the same compensation as allowed hereby to
members of the Committee.

Which was adopted.

And, favorably,

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on
Claims pay to William Daniels, for services rendered
the Senate during the present session, for cleaning
and keeping in order the Finance and other committee
rooms of the Senate, and for performing other duties,
a per diem of —— dollars to date, from the beginning
of the session.

With the following proposed amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out the words, "a per diem of ——dollars to
date from the beginning of the session," and insert in
lieu thereol the following words, "$100."

Which was read.

Mr. Getty submitted the following amendment to
the amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "$100" in the order, and insert "$250."
Which was adopted.
Said order, as amended, was then adopted.
