House bill entitled an Act for the assessment of a
tax upon distilled spirits.

Which were severally read the first time, and re-
ferred to the Committee on Finance.

Also, returned the following bills :

Senate bill entitled au Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Charles county to issue bonds bear-
ing interest not exceeding five per cent, per annum,
to raise money to pay off the bonded indebtedness of
said county.

Seriate bill entitled an Act to pay B. J. Sedwick
and W. H. Warren, wages due them as employees in
Warehouse No. 2, during the year 1890.

Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit pool selling,
&c., in Prince George's and Montgomery counties.

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate Lonacon-
ing Lodge No. 85, of the I. O. O. F., of Allegany
county, Maryland.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 2, of chapter 202, of the Acts
of 1890, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay for land that may be required to extend the
Maryland Penitentiary, &c.

Senate bill entitled an Act to add a new section to
Article 4, Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of
Baltimore," sub title "Sheriff's Fees," to be desig-
nated as ' 'Section 799 A."

Senate bill entitled an Act to create a commission
to inquire into the distribution of the State School
Tax and report to the next General Assembly.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money for repairing the Executive Mansion,
Senate bill entitled an Act to incoporate the Edmun-
son Avenue, Catonsville and Ellicott City Railway
Company.

Severally endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also, returned, the following bills :

Senate bill entitled an Act to empower the Judges
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore county to purchase
law books for its Public Law Library and and to pro-
vide for payment of same.
