1168 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Apl. 1,

House bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of
the General Assembly to sundry gifts, bequests, &c.,
to sundry churches, charitable institutions, &c.

With the following proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Add a new section to follow section 39, to be known
as "Section 40," and to read as follows :

"Section 40. That the sanction and consent of the
General Assembly be and is hereby granted and given
to the following bequests of Mary E. Fislage, to or for
the use of the several religious sects, orders or de-
nominations hereinafter set forth, viz :

"First. To the bequest of Mary E. F'islage, of
Howard county, to the Redemptonists, a body cor-
porate of the State of Mary land, of the sum of one
thousand dollars, said will being dated January 7th,
1878.

"Second. To the bequest of said Mary E. Fislage,
under said will, to the St. Joseph's German Hospital
of the city of Baltimore, a body corporate of the State
of Maryland, of the sum of five hundred dollars."

"Third. To the bequest of said Mary E. Fislage, under
said will, to the Little Sisters of the Poor, a body cor-
porate of the State of Maryland, of the sum of three
hundred dollars."

Amend bill by adding an additional section there-
to to be known as "Section 41," and to read as follows:

"Section 21. To a deed of conveyance from John
T. Morris to the trustees of the Otterbine Chapel of
the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, in the
City of Baltimore, dated December 22, 1885, recorded
among the Land Records of Baltimore city, in Liber
J. B., No. 1079, folio 279, &c., and to the grant there-
in contained and set forth."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Mr. Wirt, from the Committee on Library, reported
unfavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing and direct-
ing the State Librarian to furnish the Faculty of Law
of the University of Maryland certain law books from
the State Library.

Which was adopted.
