We have received your message requesting the re-
turn to your Honorable Body for further considera-
tion of House bill No. 324, introduced by Mr. Smith,
of Dorchester. We herewith returned said bill.

On motion by Mr. Austin,
The vote by which said bill passed was reconsidered
and said bill recommitted.
Mr. Austin, from the o el ect Committee, reported
said bill favorably, with the- following proposed
amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out all after "A bill," and insert the fol-
lowing :
"Entitled an Act to divide the Fourth, or Parson's
Creek Election District of Dorchester county, into two
election precincts.
"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Fourth, or Parson's Creek
Election District of Dorchester county, be and is
hereby divided into two election precincts, to be called
Precinct No. 1, or Madison Precinct, and Precinct No.
2, or Taylor's Ireland Precinct; all that part of said
Fourth, or Parson's Creek District, lying eastward of
a line beginning with the headwaters of Parson's
'Creek and running with Stewart's Canal to its inter-
section with the headwaters of- Blackwater river, and
with said river to the Big Water Bridge, shall consti-
tute the First, or Madison Precinct, and the voting
place shall be Madison; and all that part of said
Fourth, or Parson's Creek District, lying to the west-
ward of said line, shall constitute the Second, or Tay-
lor's Island Precinct, and the voting place shall be at
Taylor's Island.
"Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the County Com-
missioners of Dorchester county are hereby authorized
