NEGATIVE—None.
Also, favorably,

Ordered, That James W. Owens be appointed a
Committee Clerk to the Senate for the remainder of
the session, with a per diem of five dollars, to date from
his appointment, and to be employed under the im-
mediate direction of the Secretary.

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add at the conclusion of the order the following
words: "That the employment of the said James W,
Owens shall be for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
Saturday and Monday, March 30 and 31, April 1, 2
and 4, and that his compensation for said days shall
be five dollars per day and no more, and the said
Owens shall not be considered an officer of the Senate
nor entitled to mileage or stationery, but only for said
entire service the sum of $25.00 as aforesaid.
