1014 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 29,

In line 10 of section 5, strike out the words "when
within the town of Elkton."

In section 5 strike out all after the word "prescribe,'
in line 11 thereof.
Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.
Mr. Hayes, from the Committee on Finance, re-
ported favorably,

Whereas, The Senate passed an order January 6th,
requiring the State Printer to furnish journals for the
newspapers of the State, for which no appropriation
was made;

Ordered, That the State Printer be paid fifty cents
per page for journals printed for the newspapers of
the State and that $650, or so much as may be neces-
sary, is hereby appropriated therefor.

Which was read and adopted, by yeas and nays, as
follows:

Ordered by the Senate, That the Committee on
Claims be and they are hereby directed to pay to the
personal representative of Hon. Joseph F. Talbott, late
Senator from Calvert county, the sum of one thousand
and thirty-nine dollars and sixty-five cents ($1,039.65),
for his counsel fees, witnesses and other expenses, in
the contested election case of D. Samuel R. Bird,
against him, heard and decided by the Senate.
With the following proposed amendment:

In. third line of order, strike out the words "per-
sonal representatives" and insert in lieu thereof the
