tions of the electors of said City Council shall be the

 

same as those of the Mayor, and each elector shall

 

be a resident of the ward in which he may offer to

 

vote for not less than thirty days next preceding the

 

election at which he may offer to vote. The mem-

 

bers of said City Council from the several wards,

 

elected on the third Monday of May, eighteen hun-

 

dred and seventy-seven, shall hold office until the

 

election and qualification of their successors above
