CHAPTER 471.

AN ACT for the better protection of oysters in
|
 
|
the waters of the Patuxent river included within
|
 
|
the boundaries of Calvert county and Saint
|
 
|
Mary's county, between Point Patience and
|
 
|
Sheridan's Point in Calvert county, and Town
|
 
|
Point and Long Point in Saint Mary's county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any
|

person or persons to take or catch oysters for any
|
ful to catch

purpose, in any manner, or with any instrument
|
oysters.
|
whatever, in the waters of the Patuxent river
|
 
|
within the boundaries of Calvert county, between
|
 
|
Point Patience and Sheridan's Point in Calvert
|
 
|
county, and between Town Point and Long Point
|
 
|
in Saint Mary's county, from the first day of May
|
 
|
to the first day of October in each year after the
|
 
|
passage of this act ; provided, however, that this
|
 
|
act shall not be construed to prohibit the citizens
|
 
|
of Calvert county or Saint Mary's county from
|
 
|
taking from the waters thereof oysters for private
|
 
|
use, or for the purpose of replanting or bedding
|
 
|
in the waters of said counties, or for sale to the
|
 
|
citizens of the county wherein they are caught.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That upon information
|
 
|
given upon oath to any justice of the peace in and
for the counties aforesaid, of any violation of the
|
 
|
