said, and to vote therein until he shall reside in the

 

district which he shall have removed to and remained

 

in a sufficient time to entitle him to register therein ;

 

and the said officer of registration, before registering

register to ask any questions touching any cause of

 

disqualification not expressly enumerated in the con-

 

stitution of Maryland or of the United States ; and

 

no person shall be permitted to register who is dis-

 

qualified under any of the provisions of the consti-

 

tution of Maryland, except in relation to color ; and

 

the registrars of voters so appointed as aforesaid,

 

shall have the same qualifications and shall perform

 

their duties in their several aldermanic districts as

 

are now required of the registrars for the ten wards

 

of said city, except that the publication of the lists

 

of voters shall be made by handbills distributed in

 

their respective districts, instead of by printing in

 

the newspapers, as now directed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.
