CHAPTER 464.
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal sections eighty-four and eighty-
|
 
|
five and sub-section one of section eighty-seven
|
 
|
of article eleven of the Code of Public Local Laws,
|
 
|
entitled "Frederick County," sub-title "Freder-
|
 
|
ick," as enacted by chapter three hundred and
|
 
|
forty-eight of the acts of eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
seventy- two, relating to the corporate organization
|
 
|
of Frederick city, and to enact the following sec-
|
 
|
tions and sub-section in lieu of the same.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That sections eighty-four and eighty-
|
 
|
five and sub-section one of section eighty-seven of
|
 
|
article eleven of the Code of Public Local Laws for
|
 
|
Frederick county, sub-title " Frederick," as enacted
|

by chapter three hundred and forty-eight of the acts
of eighteen hundred and seventy-two, relating to the
Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of Freder-
|
 
|
ick, and the election thereof, and also all other acts
|
 
|
and parts of acts inconsistent with the sections and
|
 
|
sub-section hereinafter enacted, be and the same are
|
 
|
hereby repealed, and the following sections, and sub-
|
 
|
section be enacted in lieu of and as substitutes
|
 
|
therefor :
|
 
|
84. The residents of said city of Frederick, quali-
|
 
|
fied as hereinafter prescribed, shall, on the last Mon-
|
 
|
day of February in the year eighteen hundred and
|

seventy-four, and in every third year thereafter,
elect the Mayor and five Aldermen for said city in
|
 
|
the manner following, namely : The qualified voters
of each of the five aldermanic districts of said city
|
 
|
shall vote at the polls in their respective districts for
|
 
|
Mayor, and no person shall be permitted to vote for
|
 
|
Mayor in any other district, except as hereinafter
|
 
|
stated, than that in which said voter actually resides
|
 
|
and in and for which he is registered, and the quali-
|
 
|
fied voters of each aldermanic district shall at the
|
 
|
polls in their respective districts vo'te for an Alder-
|
 
|
man ; one Alderman shall be chosen from each of
|
 
|
said five aldermanic districts, and shall be voted for
