dwelling houses of said Adam Clark and John Baird,

 

and including all the lots now improved and lots

 

laid out for building purposes on both sides of the

 

street, and including the machine shop and grounds

 

of William T. Haugh, and one hundred feet of the

 

northern part of George A. Flickinger's lot, known

 

as " The Lime Kiln Lot," and all the lots on the

 

northern part of said street as far as the road com-

 

monly known as the "Mill Road," and then starting

 

at the southwest corner of the Catholic Church lot

 

and running along said street to the northeast cor-

 

ner of Jacob Lambert's lot, including all the lots on

 

both sides of the streets ; and for sanitary purposes

 

and to prevent the introduction of contagious dis-

 

eases, the powers of the corporation shall extend to

 

the distance of one mile from the outside limits of

 

the corporation herein described.

 

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the male citizens

 

of Taneytown above twenty-one years of age, who

 

shall have resided in said town twelve months next

 

preceding the election shall, on the third Monday in

 

April, annually, elect five commissioners, each one
