liquors and medicated bitters producing intoxication,
as heretofore specified in this act, shall be sold or dis-
posed of, as hereinbefore specified, in such election
district; and the clerk of said court shall give special
notice thereof to the sheriff of said county, whose
duty it shall be, under penalty for neglect or refusal as is now or hereafter may be provided by law for	When to give notice.
such neglect or refusal in regard to proclamation of
other elections held in this State, to give notice of
the same at the time he shall give notice of the elec-
tion to be held for a member of Congress of the
United States from the said first congressional district of Maryland next following the filing of said petition and passing of the order thereon hereinbefore spe-
cified.
SEC 9. And be it enacted, That such election shall
be held as provided in sections one and two of this
act, and the results thereof so proclaimed, and if a	Results to be

jority cast ; and if a majority of votes are cast

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That every expense	Expenses —

or any of them, or the clerk of said court, shall
neglect or refuse to perform the duties required of
them by any section of this act, they shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon indictment and
conviction therefor shall be fined not less than fifty
nor more than one hundred dollars and costs for
such offence, and stand committed until such fine
and costs are paid.
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the provisions
of section three of this act, as to license for sale of
liquor or other fermented spirits, shall apply not	Where to apply
