the powers of a constable ; and the said bailiff shall

sioners, as other constables, for the faithful perform-

ance of his duty as constable ; and the said bailiff

shall execute a bond, with good and sufficient sureties,

to be approved of by the Mayor, to the Mayor and

City Council of Havre-de Grace, in such penalty as
|
 
|
they may require, for the faithful performance of his
|
 
|
duties as city bailiff, and for his accountability to
|
 
|
the corporation for all sums that may come into his
|
 
|
hands as collector of city tax, and for the faithful
|
 
|
performance of such duties as may be imposed upon
|
 
|
him by the ordinances of the City Council ; for wil-
|
 
|
ful neglect to discharge or refusal to perform the
|
 
|
duties imposed on him as such officer, the Mayor
|
 
|
may remove him from his office and submit the mat-
|
 
|
ter to the City Council for approval or disapproval.

|
SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That it shall be the

other duties in connection with his office as the

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and

|
City Council shall have power to pass all such ordi-
nances not contrary to the constitution and laws of

erect or establish market-houses and regulate mar-

kets ; they may erect or establish houses of correc-
