SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and
|
 
|
City Council shall appoint three judges of election,
|

evening ; and the said judges and clerks shall receive
|

the same compensation as judges and clerks of
|
 
|
elections in Harford county, to be paid by the said
|
 
|
city.

|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants of
|
 
|
the city of Havre-de-Grace, residents thereof for one
|
 
|
year previous to the municipal elections of said city,
and qualified as hereinafter prescribed, shall, on the
|
 
|
first Monday in January in each and every year, of
|
 
|
which at least two weeks' notice shall be given by
|

of known integrity, experience and sound judgment,

not less than thirty years of age, ten years a citizen
|

of the United States, and five years a resident of the
|

said city, next preceding the election, and assessed

upon the books of the assessors of Harford county

|
with real property in said city to an amount not less
|
 
|
than one thousand dollars, to be Mayor of the said
|
 
|
city of Havre-de-Grace for one year.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the City Council

shall consist of six members, who shall be citizens

assessors of Harford county to an amount not less

than five hundred dollars, and shall hold their office

members of said City Council shall be elected by the
|
 
|
legal voters of said city, and the qualifications of the
|
 
|
electors of the said City Council shall be the same
|
 
|
as those of Mayor.
