CHAPTER 436.
AN ACT to fill the vacancies in the Board of Com-
missioners appointed by the act of eighteen hun-
dred and forty, chapter two hundred and fifteen,
entitled " An act for cleaning out the Pocomoke
river, by means of a lottery."
Whereas by the acts of eighteen hundred and
forty, chapter two hundred and fifteen, certain per- sons, to wit : Henry Franklin, Peter Whaley, Zadok	Preamble
P. Henry, Levi Cathell and Thomas A. Spence, were
appointed commissioners to clean out the Pocomoke
river, and to raise certain money therefore by means
of a lottery ; and,
Whereas by subsequent elections held by said
board, the vacancies occasioned by death or other-
wise have been supplied ; and, whereas a majority of the said Board of Commissioners are now dead,	Preamble.
and only James Whaley and Zadock P. Henry, both
of whom were elected by said board, survive, the
said board is left without a quorum, and are unable
to act ; therefore —
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Edward White, John W. Henry
and John B. Dale, be and they are hereby appoint-
ed by this General Assembly to complete and nil up the vacancies in said board, with power and author-	Fill vacancy on board
