9. And be it enacted, That whenever any person

|
may be convicted in any of the courts of this State
|

of any crime or misdemeanor, and who is liable

10. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty

to be arrested and, on due proof, to commit any

vagrant, habitually disorderly person (not insane),

to said House of Correction for a period not less
|
 
|
than two months nor more than six months ; and

in the discretion of the justice, may be sentenced

to double the term of the first commitment ; pro-

vided that any person that may be brought before

11. And be it enacted, That every person com-

mitted or sentenced to the said House of Correc-
|
 
|
tion shall be kept at some useful employment, or
