SEC. 49. Be it enacted, The said commissioners

may pass all by-laws and ordinances necessary to

give effect and operation to all the powers vested in

them for breach of said by-laws and ordinances, and
|
 
|
any justice of the peace residing within the said
|

town may take cognizance of all violations of the

said by-laws or ordinances, and, upon information,

|
may cause all persons offending against them to be
|
 
|
brought before him for trial, and, if convicted, may
|
 
|
fine the party not exceeding ten dollars, and in de-
|
 
|
fault of payment of said fine and costs may commit
|
 
|
the offender to the jail of Saint Mary's county for a
|
 
|
term not exceeding twenty days ; but any person so
convicted may appeal from the judgment of the jus-
|

Mary's county, as in the cases ; provided, however,

he shall, within five days, enter into bond with good

security in the penalty of twenty dollars to prose-

SEC. 50. Be it enacted. That the party authorized

by said Town Commissioners to collect taxes, may
