CHAPTER 267.

|
AN ACT to add an additional section, to be desig-
|
|
|
nated as section twenty-three, to article seventy-
|
|
|
eight of the Code of Public General Laws, enti-
|
|
|
tled " Refuge, House of."
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That the following section be and
|
|

the same is hereby added to article seventy-eight of

section.

the Code of Public General Laws, to be entitled
|
|
|
section twenty-three of said article, and to read as
|
|
|
follows, viz :
|
|
|
SEC. 23. The Mayor and City Council of Balti-
|
|
|
more are authorized and empowered to appropriate
|
|
|
annually towards the current expenses of the House
|
|
|
of Refuge and St. Mary's Industrial School, any sum
|
|
|
or sums of money not exceeding twenty-five thousand
|
|

dollars per annum, and to the Boys' Home Society

City Council

of Baltimore city the sum of five thousand dollars
|
|
of Baltimore
authorized to

annually ; and the said Mayor and City Council are
|
|
appropriate.

for repairs, permanent improvements and additions

to the buildings now occupied and used by said
|
|
|
House of Refuge, such additional sum or sums of

|
|
money as in their judgment shall, from time to time,
|
|
|
be required for these purposes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act

|
|
shall take effect from the day of its passage.
