the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore is hereby

authorized and empowered to guarantee in any ap-

propriate manner the payment by said company of

the principal and interest, or the interest only, of

such reduced amounts, and to provide by ordinance
|
 
|
for the manner of making such guarantee, and the
|
 
|
terms and conditions upon which the same will be
|
 
|
made.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That neither the guar-
|
 
|
antee of the dividends, or of the payment of principal
and interest, or any part thereof, in the last two pre-
|
 
|
ceding sections mentioned, shall be made by the
|
 
|
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore until the
ordinance authorizing or directing the same shall

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury
