CHAPTER 218.

AN ACT to repeal sections one, two, three, four,
|
 
|
five, "six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
|
 
|
thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen,
|
 
|
eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty-one, twenty-
|
 
|
two, twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five, and
|
 
|
twenty-six, of article eighteen of the Code of Pub-
|
 
|
lic Local Laws, title " St. Mary's county," sub-title
|
 
|
" Almshouse," and enact a substitute therefor.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That sections one, two, three,
|
 
|
four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
|
 
|
bhirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen,
|

nineteen, twenty, twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-
|
 
|
three, twenty-four, twenty-five, and twenty-six, of
|
 
|
article eighteen Code Public Local Laws, title " St.
|
 
|
Mary's county," sub-title "Almshouse," be and the
|
 
|
same are hereby repealed and the following sections
|
 
|
enacted in lieu thereof :
|
 
|
SEC. 2. The almshouse in St. Mary's county and
|

the property thereto attached shall be under the ex-
clusive management and control of the County Com-

|
missioners of said county.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. The said County Commissioners shall an-
|
 
|
nually, at their first regular meeting in June, or as
|
 
|
soon thereafter as practicable, let said almshouse and
|
 
|
other property to such person as they may deem fit,
|

and at the same time shall contract with said tenant,
|
with tenant.

who shall be styled the keeper of the almshouse,
|
 
|
upon such terms and conditions as they may deem
|
 
|
reasonable and proper for the maintenance and sup-
|
 
|
port of the inmates of said almshouse for the period
|
 
|
of one year, commencing from the first day of Jan-
|
 
|
uary thereafter.

SEC. 4. Any one of said commissioners may, in
