CHAPTER 34.

|
AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and thirty
|
|
|
|
of article three of the Code of Public Local Laws,
|
|
|
|
entitled " Baltimore county," and to re-enact the
|
|
|
|
same with amendments, imposing additional du-
|
|
|
|
ties upon certain constables in said county so as to
|
|
|
|
read as follows :
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That section one hundred and thirty
|
|
|
|
of Article three of the Code of Public Local Laws,
|
|
|
|
entitled "Baltimore county," be and the same is
|
Repealed and
|
|
|
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
|
re-enacted.
|
|
|
so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
SEC. 130. Be it enacted, The constables of said
|
|
|
|
county shall have from the first to the third day
|
|
|
|
of the several terms of the Circuit Court for said
|
|
|
|
county to appear before the Grand Jury, and they
shall each be allowed a per diem of two dollars and
|
|
|
|
fifty cents for their attendance ; it shall be the duty
|
|
|
|
of the County Commissioners of said county, on or
|
|
|
|
before the first Tuesday in May in each year, to ap-
|
|
|
|
point one of the constables in each district of the
|
|
|
|
county, other than a deputy sheriff in said district, if
|
|
|
|
there be such constable in the district, to inspect li-
|

censes in the district, and the constable so appointed ;

|
shall visit every place of business in his district, the
|
|
|
|
proprietors whereof are required to have licenses im-
|
|
|
|
mediately before the March and September terms of

of business to produce a license, and in case of refusal

to produce the same the constable shall arrest the

prosecution, as a punishment for his refusal to pro-
