SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

CHAPTER 185.
|

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Com-
|
 
|
missioners of Anne Arundel county to erect a
|
 
|
lock-up or guard house in the fifth district of said
|
 
|
county.
|
 
|
Whereas great inconvenience has been experienced
|
 
|
in the fifth district of Anne Arundel county by rea-
|
 
|
son of the absence of any place of confinement for
|

prisoners who may have been committed to the

county jail of said county during their journey to
|
 
|
said jail ; now, therefore, to remedy the above named
|
 
|
inconvenience, and to provide a place for the tem-
|
 
|
porary custody of such prisoners,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
|

ized and directed to erect a guard-house or place of

temporary confinement in the village of Brooklyn,

in the fifth election district of Anne Arundel county,

hearing before a justice of the peace of the vicinity.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Com-
|
 
|
missioners of Anne Arundel county be and they are
|
