nesses," be repealed and re-enacted so as to read as

follows :

SEC. 946. Witnesses attending any of the courts
|
|
|
Witnesses.

of Baltimore city, except the Criminal Court of Bal-

timore, shall be entitled to fifty cents a day, and in
|
|
|
|
the Criminal Court shall not be entitled to said
|
|
|
|
allowance except by the express order of the court,
|
|
|

and only in such cases as the court in its discretion
|
|
|
|
may deem proper.

CHAPTER 29.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to regulate the pay of the State's Attor-
|
|
|
|
ney for Prince George's county.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That the State's Attorney for Prince
|
|
|
Fees of
|
George's county shall receive in each and every case
|
|
|

ney.
|
in which any indictment is 'found, the sum of twenty
dollars, the same to include the appearance fees now
|
|
|
|
fixed by law ; the said sum of twenty dollars to be
|
|
|
|
in full for all services in said cases, except where a
|
|
|
|
greater amount is allowed by the commissioners as
|
|
|
|
hereinafter authorized.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the State's At-
|
|
|
|
torney for Prince George's county shall not be en-
|
|
|
|
titled to an appearance or other fee in any case of
|
|
|
Forfeiture
and money
|
recognizance, except where there has been a forfeit-
ure and the money collected, when he shall be en-
|
|
|
collected.

titled to the sum of ten dollars out of the amount so
|
|
|
|
forfeited and collected, and in no case where there
|
|
|
|
is a presentment but no indictment shall he be en-
|
|
|
|
titled to any compensation.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That in all
|
|
|
|
cases where the punishment for the offence is death
|
|
|
|
or confinement in the penitentiary, the County Com-
|
|
|
|
missioners may allow to the State's Attorney such
|
|
|
