hereby authorized and empowered to receive and col-


lect all subscriptions and monies subscribed to the


stock of said turnpike road and apply the same to


the building, making, grading or constructing of


said turnpike, and maintaining the same in proper


repair, cut, dig and make a turnpike road, properly


bedded, paved with stone, between the said places


therein named, not to exceed sixty feet in width,


with necessary slopes, of which eighteen feet shall


be an artificial road of stone, the said company to


use, if deemed by them expedient, the bed of the


present county road between the said places, with
