produced before him, wherein he shall set forth the

above-mentioned oath ; and it shall also be the duty
|
|
|

of the justice to destroy any such head to prevent
|
|
|
|
any second allowance for the same.

|
|
|
131. Upon the production of such certificate the
|
|
|
|
County Commissioners of Garrett county shall levy
|

upon the assessable property of the county the afore-
said allowance, for the use of the person producing
|
|
|
|
the same, and the county collector shall collect and
|
|
|
|
pay the same accordingly.

WITNESSES.
|
|
|
|
132. Witnesses in Garrett county who shall re-
|
|
|
|
side more than three miles from the place of holding
|
|
|
|
the Circuit Court shall, in addition to the per-diem
|

allowed by law, receive six and one quarter cents
|
|
|
|
per mile for every mile exceeding the first three, to
|
|
|
|
be allowed in going to the court, but no witness
|
|
|
|
shall be allowed mileage more than once going to
|
|
|
|
said court in any one term.

|
|
133. The county commissioners shall levy annu-
|
|
|
|
ally a sufficient sum in advance to pay the State's
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts

of acts inconsistent with this act be and are hereby

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

eifect from the date of its passage, but in so far as the

holding office in said county under the constitution

and laws of this State, this act shall have no opera-

|
tion upon such compensation until the end of the

term of the present incumbents of said office.
