Whereupon.
It appearing that the Hon. Chas. H. Gibson had re-
ceived a majority of all the votes cast (a majority of
all the members to both Houses being present and
voting,) the Chairman of the Joint Assembly declared
that the Hon. Chas. H. Gibson having received a
majority of all the votes cast (a majority of all the
members elected to both Houses being present and
voting,) is therefore elected Senator fiom the State
of Maryland to the Congress of the United States to
fill the unexpired terra of the Hon. Ephraim K. Wil-
son, deceased, whose term < f office would have ex-
pired on the 4th day of March, eighteen hundred and
ninety-seven.
The Chairman then declared the Joint Assembly
adjourned.
The House resumed business.
Mr. Collins submitted the following message.
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 21st, 1892.
Gentlemen of the Senate ;
We respectfully propose, with the consent of your
Honorable Body, the appointment of a Joint Com-
mittee of three on the part of the House and wo on
the part of the Senate, to wait upon the Hon. Charles
H. Gibson and notify him of his election to the Senate
of the United Spates by the General Assembly of
Maryland, in this year of 1892.
We have appointed on the part of the House Messrs.
Collins, Smith, of Dorchester, and Brennan.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.
Mr. Gallagher moved a reconsideration of the vote
by which the following order introduced by Mr.
Grove, cf Frederick, on the 20th, was referred to Com-
mittee on Printing, viz:
Ordered, That 700 copies of the list of names of
Senators and Members oi the House, with their occu-
pation and address, the chief officers of the two
Houses, and the committees of both, be printed at
