So the veto was sustained.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Carter, from the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably,
" Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 27, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and
Punishments," sub-title "Counterfeiting and For-
gery," by adding a new section thereto, to follow sec-
tion 46, and to be designated as "Section 47," and to
be under the title of "Crimes and Punishments," sub-
title "Counterfeiting and Forgery."
Which was read a second time.
Also, unfavorably, from the same Committee,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 198, of
the Acts of 1890, entitled an Act in relation to cruelty
to animals, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
Which was adopted.
Also, unfavorably, from the same Committee,
Joint Resolution authorizing the Attorney General
to employ counsel to assist him in the defense of Wil-
liam Marsh, a citizen of Maryland, now held by the
authorities of Virginia for alleged violation of the
oyster laws of said State of Virginia.
Mr. Thompson moved to substitute joint resolution
for the unfavorable report.
