PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. McSherry presented a petition from Julius
Ceasar and 45 other colored citizens of Frederick city,
praying that they may be mustered into the Maryland
National Guard.
Which was read, and referred to the Frederick
County Delegation.
Mr. Garner presented a petion from the Trustees of
St. Mary's Female Seminary, asking for an additional
appropriation for said institution.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
Mr. Hamilton presented a petition from Chas. W.
Stewart and 46 citizens of Baltimore county, praying
the passage of an Act prohibiting the sale of liquor
within 1 1/2 miles of School No. 9, District No. 8, of said
county.
Which was read, and referred to the Baltimore
County Delegation.
Mr. Orrick presented a petition from residents and
taxpayers of Monkton and vicinity, in favor of the
passage of an Act prohibiting the sale of intoxicating
liquors within a radius of 1 1/2 miles from the railroad
station at Monkton, in Baltimore, county.
Which was read, and referred to the Baltimore
County Delegation.
ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. Berret, it was
Ordered, That when this House adjourns to-night it
stands adjourned to meet at 11.30 o'clock to-morrow.
On motion of Mr. Smith, it was
Ordered, That the Principal of the State Normal
School be instructed to furnish the Board of County
School Commissioners of each county, 100 copies of the
school reports, for distribution to the teachers of the
counties.
