Mr. Collins submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
On page 4, in section 2, line 6, after the word
"therein," strike out all the remainder of section 2,
and add on line 6, after the word "therein," "nor to
grave, graves and cemetries, both private and public,
that have no revenue or income."
Which was rejected.
Mr. Ellegood submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In seection 2, line 20, before the word "contract"
insert the word "irrepealable," and also in line 22, of
section 2, before the word "contract" insert the word
"irrepealable."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Sams submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
But this section shall not apply to any property
whatsoever belonging to the Johns Hopkins Univer-
sity and the Johns Hopkins's Hospital, which is
hereby exempted from State and municipal taxation.
On motion,
Consideration postponed until the conclusion of
second reading of bill.
Mr. Collins, submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
On line 33, page 6, after the word "hand," the words
"on farmers tools and implements to the value of five
hundred dollars."
Mr. Monmonier submitted the following as a sub-
stitute :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In line 33, after the word "hand." insert "nor far-
mers implements or tools to the extent of one hundred
and fifty dollars."
