to appear before your Honorable Body and solicit a
moderate appropriation for the needed improvement.
In conclusion, we congratulate the people of our
State and your Honorable Body, that great benefits
have been and are being received from this institu-
tion of learning through the wise provisions of the
Act of Assembly endowing the same, every require-
ment of which has be,en fully and faithfully adhered
to and complied with by our Board of Trustees.

On motion of Mr. Gaver, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Grove and Sappington, of
Frederick, be excused from to day's session.
On motion of Mr. Carrico, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Maddox be excused from attend-
ance at to-day's session, on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Moore, it was

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Joyce,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to ntroduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal
section 93, of Article 81, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, title "Revenue and Taxes," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Green,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to appro-
priate annually a sum of money for the support of
Marion Academy, in Somerset county.
