Mr. Sams submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add at the end of section 20, the following: "And
when clutch or small oysters adhere so closely to the
shell of an oyster in above the length of two and one-
half inches as to render a removal impossible, then
such large oyster, together with the adhering small
oysters or clutch, shall be left on the natural beds or
bar. The possession of any empty shells among a
cargo of oysters or of any oysters of which the shells
measure from hinge to mouth less than two and one-
half inches on board of any boat or vessel in the
waters of this State, shall be prima facie evidence that
the cargo is unculled and violation of this section. It
shall be the duty of the State Fishery Force to enforce
this section.
