The House met at 11 A. M., and was opened with
priyer by the Rev. Mr. Day.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS,
Mr. Orrick presented a petition from Wm. Pinkney
Whyte, John E. Hurst and other citizens of Baltimore,
in favor of the passage of certain bills in relation to
the North Avenue Railway Company of Baltimore
city, and the Baltimore, Hampden and Lake Roland
Railway Company.
Mr. Sams presented a resolution from Robinson W
Carter, Bartlett Carroll, Adams & Co., and 60 other
citizens on the same subject and in favor of the same.
Mr. Gill presented a petition from John S. Gittings
& Co., Middendorf, Oliver & Co., and the Baltimore
Stock Exchange, on same subject, in favor of same.
Mr. Fitzgerald presented a petition from Doughlas
H. Thomas, President of the Merchants' National
Bank, Robt. C. Davidson, President of the Baltimore
Trust and Guarantee Company and others, bankers
and citizens, on same subject, in favor of same.
Mr. Carr presented a petition from Messrs. I. S.
Ditch, Chas. F. Pitt, and 67 other citizens of north
Baltimore, on same subject, in favor of same.
