Made the Order of the Day for Thursday, March
3rd, at 1 P. M., and the Order of the Day continuously
at 1 P. M , until disposed of.
Mr. Stearns, from the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,
House bill entitled ah Act to refund to Wm. Weaver
a sum of money paid into the Treasury.
Also, favorably, from same committee,
House bill entitled an Act to refund to Wm. A,
Lyon, Collector of Taxes in the Seventh Election
District of St. Mary's county, a sum of money errone-
ously paid by him into the Treasury of the State.
Which were severally read a second time, and
ordered engrossed for a third reading.
Also, favorably, fiom same committee,
House bill entitled an Act to refund to James
Nichols the sum of 86.60 for State taxes erroneously
paid into the State Treasury
Mr. Collins submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In section 1, after the word "enacted," insert the
words "by the General Assembly of Maryland."
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read a second time
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Thompson, from the Committee on the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries, reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 41, of
Article 39, of the Code of Public General Laws, en-
titled "Fish and Fisheries," sub-title "Potomac," in
so far as the game relates to black bass, and to re-
enact the same, and to add thereto four additional
sections after section 47 of said Article, for the pur-
pose of more fully protecting fresh water black bass
in the waters of Maryland.
