And I, the said Spencer C. Jones, Treasurer as afore-
said, do hereby further admit that of the aforesaid
bonds and securities received by me as aforesaid,
one million eight hundred and four thousand seven
hundred and fifty-one dollars and thirty-seven cents
theieof as in this itemized statement set forth be-
longed to the Defence Redemption Loan Sinking
Fund, two hundred and thirteen thousand and eighty-
nine dollars and fifty six cents thereof as specified
in the aforegoing statement belonged to the General
linking Fund, fifty-five thousand nine hundred and
three dollars and fifty cents thereof as specified in the
aforegoing statement belonged to the Sinking Fund of.
Exchange Loan of 1889, two hundred and eighty-nine -
thousand, five hundred and thirty-four dollars and
seventy-eight cents thereof as specified in the afore-
going statement belonged to the School Fund, Sundry
Schools, &c., one hundred and fifteen thousand, nine
hundred and forty-three dollars and sixty cents there-
of as specified in aforegoing statement belonged to
the credit of the Maryland Agricultural College,
two millions, one hundred and twenty-six thousand,
four hundred and seventy dollars thereof as specified
in afoiegoina, statement belonged to other productive
assets of the State ; and thirteen thousand and five hun-
dred dollars thereof as specified in aforegoing state-
ment belonged to the unproductive assets of the State,
and the said former and retiring Treasurer did state to
me that he had been unable to find the certificate of
stock of the Union Bank of Baltimore for &ix thous-
and five hundred and twenty-five dollars ($6,625 00)
and of the Mechanics Bank of Maryland f or six thous-
and ninety dollars ($6,090 00) appearing by the Comp-
troller's Report to be held by the State for the use of
the School Fund, and the same had never been in
his possession, nor had he been able to obtain
duplicates therefor, nor had he been able to find
the evidences of the other unproductive assets of
the State, nor had the same ever been in his pos-
session, and that he was advised that the original
papers of the State's claim against the Susquehanna
and Tidewater Canal Company and the adjustment,
were filed among the papers in the Board of Public
Works or in the Executive Department; and I, the
