REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Berret, from the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to pay Charles F. Rowe,
late Collector of State Taxes for Frederick county for
1888 and 1889, a sum of money for State taxes paid by
him into the State Treasury erroneously.
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Carter, from the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 100,
101 and 103. of Article 27, of the Code of Public
General Laws of the State of Maryland, title "Fraud,"
sub-title "Fruit and Vegetable Packing."
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Also, favorably, from the same committee,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments, sections 111 and 112, of Article 16,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Chancery,"
sub-title "Non-Residents."
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to prohibit pool-selling,
book making or betting in the counties oi Baltimore
and Anne Arundel.
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 5, of
Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Adultery,"
and re-enact the same with amendments.
Which were severally read a first time.
Also reported back to the House without recom-
mendations,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 21, of
Article 17, Code of Public General Laws, title "Clerks
of Courts," and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion, said bill was read a first time, and
ordered to be printed.
Mr. Joyce, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably,
