Your committee would respectfully recommend that
the Speaker be authorized to appoint a suitable person
to be an assistant to the janitor, whose per diem shall
be the same as at the last session, and he shall also
appoint his own messenger and the messenger to the
printer.
We further recommend that the chairman of the
Committee on Ways and Means and the chairman of
the Committee on Claims be authorized to appoint a
clerk to their respective committess.
And we further recommend that an order be adopted
by this House providing that the Door-keepers and
Folders, when not attending to their respective duties,
shall assist the pages in distributing and filing the
journals ard other papers to be laid upon the desks
of the members.
