Which were severally read and referred to Worces-
ter County Delegation.
Mr Laird gave notice that he would move the follow-
ing amendments of the Rules :
Rule 6. By inserting just before the last clause
thereof the following: "When a bill, resolution,
order or other matter has been made the order of the
day at a particular hour, it shall not be permitted to-
interfere with the regular order of business down to
No. 7 of said order, should said regular order run
over the hour named; but shall, in such case, have
precedence of all other business immediately upon the
conclusion of the call for reports of Select Com-
mittees."
Rule 15. Add to rule 15 : "The combination of the
safe lock shall not be made known to any other per-
sons than the Speaker and Chief Clerk of the House,
and said combination shall be changed during the first
week of each session of the General Assembly."
Rule 28. Add at the end of Rule 28 : ' 'The motion
to reconsider shall not be made more than once touch-
ing the same-subject matter. The motion to recon-
sider, and the motion to lay on the table, the motion
to reconsider, may be made by a member at the same
time, and when the motion to reconsider has been
laid upon the table, the subject-matter shall not be
again considered during the session."
Rule 37. Add at the end of Rule 37: "But general
bills shall, in all cases, be presented with the leave,
and shall then have their first reading, and after being
referred to the proper committee shall be printed at
once, and all amendments adopted in committee shall
be reported to the House with the original bill. Local
bills shall not be printed unless specially ordered by
the House."
Rule 43. Remodel Rule 43, so as to read as follows:
The Speaker shall appoint the following committees:
1. A Committee on Rules, to consist of the Speaker
and four other members.
2. A Committee on Election.
