PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Bryan presented a petition from Wm. B. Usilton
and other newspaper proprietors, asking compensation
for publishing the Governor's Proclamation announc-
ing the adoption and rejection of certain Constitu
tional amendments.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Ways and Means.
Mr. Hill presented a petition from a sub-Alliance of
the Farmers' Alliance of Maryland, urging the estab-
lishment of a Department of Agriculture.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Agriculture.
Mr. Franklin presented a petition from Edward T.
Whaley and 24 other persons of Worcester county, to
permit the sale of liquor in School District No. 5,
Election District No. 9, of said county.
