Leave was granted to the Baltimore City Delegation
to introduce a bill entitled an Act preventing the
erection of buildings for the purpose of manufacturing,
refining, distilling or storing of coal or rock oil,
naptha or benzine or other combustible oil, within
three hundred feet of any square containing five
dwelling houses, and to provide for the removal of
such factories or store houses now operating or exist-
ing in the city of Baltimore within said restrictions.
On motion of Mr. Thompson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide
for the defense of William Marsh, a citizen of Mary-
land, indicted in the Court of Accomac county, Yir-
ginia, contrary to the compact of 1785.
On motion of Mr. Bevard,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to appropri-
ate two hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, to repair the State hay and cattle scales
located at Havre-de-Grace.
Mr. Sams moved to amend rule 22, by adding thereto
the words "but when the previous question MB ordered
the mover of the resolution or bill shall have, if he
desires, fifteen minutes to the close the debate.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Rules.

JOINT RESOLUTION.
Mr. Carter submitted a Joint Resolution directing
the State Librarian to subscribe in the name of the
State to 250 copies of Ringold's Index of the Maryland
Decisions, volume second.
Which was read a first time, and ordered to be
engrossed and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.
