REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Berret, from the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably, with proposed amend-
ments,
Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to erect a monument to mark the grave of
General Smallwood, in Charles county, Maryland.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In section 1, line 2, after the word "McKibbin,"
insert "Dr. Lewis C. Carrico, Francis J. Maddox, J.
Benjamin Mattingly and A. Posey.
Which was adopted.
Said bill was then read a second time,
Mr. Thompson, from the Committee on Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries, reported favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the appoint-
ment of one Assistant Engineer for each of the
steamers of the State Fishery Force.
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Thompson moved to suspend the rules in order
to put said bill upon its third reading and final
passage.
The rules were suspended, (two-thirds of all the
members elect) voting in the affirmative, by yeas and
nays, as follows:
