Motion to reconsider the vote by which said bill
failed,
Made the Order of the Day at 10 P. M.
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections from
67 to 72, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Oysters," sub-title "State Shipping Commissioners,
&c."
Was considered.
Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, submitted the following
proposed amendment;
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
"Provided that the provisions of this Act shall not
apply to vessels owned in Dorchester, Kent, Wicomico,
Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's, Worces-
ter, Talbot and Somerset counties."
Mr. Fitzgerald submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the word "provided," in pro-
posed amendment, and insert the following in lieu
thereof: "That vessels or bpats under ten tons owned
and working in the counties may ship crews in the
counties without being subject to the provisions of said
sections, but when such vessels shall ship their crews
in the city of Baltimore, then the provisions of said
sections 68 and 76 shall apply with full force and
effect."
