General Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled
"County Commissioners," sub-title "Public Roads,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Joyce, from the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the
Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville and Ellicott City
Electric Railway Company.
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Stearns, from the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably the following order referred to said
Committee on March 29th, viz :
Ordered, That David Jewell be allowed two dollars
and fifty cents per diem for keeping the Engrossing
Rooms cleanly and in good order.
Said order was then adopted by yeas and nays, as
follows :
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Speaker, Strong, Brashears,
Donaldson, Hutchins, Sappington, of Anne Arundel,
Ireland, Lane, Maddox, Orrick, Elliott, Hamilton,
Jr., Green, Smith, of Dorchester, Miles, Kirk, Grove,
of Cecil, Bowie, of Prince George's, Hill, Perrie,
Bryan, Wallen, Hayman, Sappington, of Frederick,
Bevard, Hayward, Stearns, Deen, Johnson, Thompson,
Fitzgerald, Carter, Field, Bowie, of Baltimore city,
O'Conor, Gallagher, Gill, Sams, Frincke, Carr,
Cornthwaite, Joyce, Fockler, Shafer, Garrott, Griffith,
Sellman, Berret, Leeds—49.
NEGATI VE—None.
Also, favorably, the following order referred to said
Committee March 30th, viz :
Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be and they
are hereby authorized to pay to C. Boessel the sum of
one hundred and twenty-nine dollars and thirty cents
($129.30), for keys, locks, keepers and repairs on
clock ; also to pay George E. Franklin & Co. the sum
of thirty-eight dollars and two cents ($38.02) for
buckets, brooms, hardware, &c., furnished for use of
the Legislature.
Said order was then adopted by yeas and nays, as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Combs, Strong, Brashears,
Donaldson, Hutchins, Sappington, of Anne Arundel,
