After thirty minutes absence the Sergeant-at-Arms
returned and reported that he was utterly unable to
find any of the absentees.
The House then resumed business.
On motion of Mr. Carter,
Further consideration of said bill postponed and
made the Order of the Day for to-morrow, March 31st,
at 1 P. M.
SECOND ORDER OF THE DAY.
The House considered the second Order of the Day,
being the motion to reconsider the vote by which
House bill entitled an Act to amend chapter 542, of
the Acts of 1890, entitled an Act to change the name
of the Trust, Deposit, Loan, Security, Guarantee and
Insurance Company of Baltimore county, and to de-
clare and enlarge the powers of said corporation, and
also to amend the original Act of incorporation of
company,
Failed for want of a constitutional majority,
It was decided in the negative by yeas and nays, as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Speaker, Brashears, D6n-
aldson, Hutchins, Sappington, of Anne Arundel,
Wo.oters, Leonard, Bowie, of Prince George's, Hill,
McSherry, Gaver, Biggs, Sappington, of Frederick,
Fitzgerald, Joyce, Stottlemyer—16.
NEGATIVE.—Messrs. Strong, Lane, Maddox, Orrick,
Cole, Elliott, Hamilton, Jr., Monmonier, Collins.
Anderson, Sterling, Meredith, Smith, of Dorchester,
Miles, Kirk, Grove, of Cecil, Wilkinson, Hayman,
Grove, of Frederick, Johnson, Carter, Sams, Frincke,
Shafer; Laird, Barber, Hosken, Sr., Haines, Sellman,
Berret, Tracey, Ellegood, Laws, Bittinger —34.
BILLS—THIRD READING,
House bill entitled an Act to amend Article 23, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Corporations,"
by adding four additional sections thereto, to follow
section 217 thereof, and to be known as "Sections 217
A, 217 B, 217 C and 217 D."
