Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to reimburse the commissioners appointed ta
erect upon the battlefield of Gettysburg monuments
to mark the positions occupied by the Maryland com-
mands that participated in said battle, the amount
expended by them in the prosecution of the work as-
signed them over and above the amount appropriated
therefor.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Committee on Ways and Means.
Also,
Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and require
the County Commissioners of Somerset county to have
placed and keep on the several lines to which it may
be lawful to use scoops, scrapes and dredges, or any
similar instrument, to take or catch oysters in the
waters of the Annamessex, Monokin and Wicomico
Rivers, in said county, such buoys or other marks as
may be necessary to plainly designate said lines and
to levy upon the assessable property of Somerset;
county such sum or sums, not exceeding one hundred
and fifty dollars, as may be necessary for this pur-
pose.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Somerset County Delegation.
Also,
House bill entitled an Act to regulate the compensa-
tion of jurors, bailiffs, cryers and messengers to the
Circuit Courts for St, Mary's and Calvert counties.
Endorsed; ' Read the third time, and passed by
yeas and nays, with proposed amendment:"
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out "St. Mary's county," wherever it appears
in the title and the bill.
Which was non-concurred in.
Also,
House bill entitled an Act to provide for the de-
struction of fruit trees in the State of Maryland in-
fected with the disease known as the "Yellows."
