In line 5, after the word "cocaine," insert the word
"chloral."
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read a second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Carter reported favorably from the Committee
on the Judiciary,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 9, of Article 52, of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Justice
of the Peace," sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction."
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Also, favorably,
Joint Resolution requesting the Senators and Rep-
resentatives in Congress from the State of Maryland
to use all proper endeavors to have the authorities of
the United States deed and convey to the State of
Maryland the Naval Hospital Building, located on
the Government Farm adjoining the Naval Academy
grounds at Annapolis.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Committee on Ways and Means.
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 77, of Article 5, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Appeals," sub-title
"Appeals in Criminal Cases."
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction
and consent of the General Assembly of Maryland to
sundry gifts, bequests and devises contained in the
last wills and testaments of certain persons late of the
State of Maryland, deceased, and also to certain gifts,
grants, sales, leases and deeds made by various persons
in this State to and for the use and benefit of sundry
ministerial persons, religious corporations, denomi-
nations or sects, and to certain charitable institutions.
