House bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale and
granting of license for the sale of spirituous and fer-
mented liquors in Carroll county,
Endorsed: "Reported favorably from Select Com-
mittee, read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays, with proposed amendments."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Add the following:
"Section 22. And be it enacted, That thi.s Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage."
Also, in line 24 of section 3, after the word "gal-
lons," insert the following: "And whether for the
purpose of opening or keeping an ordinary or a saloon
or restaurant, and if for the purpose of opening or
keeping an ordinary, that he has bona fide, and with-
out intending to evade the requirements of this law,
provided and expects to maintain six good beds with
sufficient covering therefor, and three rooms more
than sufficient for the private uses of said ordinary
keeper, with stabling and provender for five horses at
least."
In line 2 of section 4, strike out "six" and insert
"nine," and strike out "tax-payers" and insert "free-
holders."
Also, in line 9 of section 8, after the word "ordi-
nary," insert "or;" in line 11 of section 8, after "the
sum of," strike out "two" and insert "one."
In line 15 of section 8, after the word "ordinary,"
insert "or."
In line 11 of section 17, after the word "such,"
strike out "justice" and insert "druggist."
