House bill entitled an Act to appropriate certain
sums of money to the support of sundry schools and
charitable institutions in the State of Maryland for
each of the two fiscal years ending on the 30th day of
September, 1893, and the 30th day of September,
1894, respectively.
Mr. Collins submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
On page 6, section 22, line 1, strike out the words
"three thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars"
and insert the words "five thousand dollars," and
also in line 3, same section, strike out the words
"thirty-seven hundred and fifty dollars" and insert
the words "five thousand dollars "
Which was adopted.
Mr. Bowie, of Prince George's county, submitted
the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In section 30, lines 1 and 3, strike out "seven hun-
dred and fifty," and insert "one thousand."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Garner submitted the following proposed amend-
ment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Alter section 33, add the following :
"Section 34. To the Board of Trustees of the St.
Mary's Female Seminary, the sum of one thousand
dollars, for the purpose of building a hall to be used
as an addition and for the accommodation of the pupils
of said institution."
Which was adopted.
Mr. O'Conor submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
"Section 85. To the Oblate Sisters of Providence
the sum of five hundred dollars for the fiscal year 1893,
and a like sum of five hundred dollars for the fiscal
year 1894.
Which was adopted.
