BILLS—SECOND READING.
House bill entitled an Act making appropriations
for the support of the State government for the fiscal
year ending on the 20th day of September, 1893.
Mr. Berret submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
After the word "typewriter," in line 5 of "Contin-
gent Fund," insert "and three hundred dollars to pay
the salary of John R. Sullivan, janitor of the House
of Delegates."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Laird submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In sub-title ''Contingent Fund," after the word
"necessary," add the following: "And for indexing
chancery records two hundred dollars or so much
thereof as may be necessary."
Which were adopted.
Mr. Fockler submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Insert as follows after the word "necessary :" "To
George B. Oswald, clerk of the Circuit Court for
Washington county, one hundred and twenty-three
dollars and fifty cents ($123.50), for the cost of the
transcript of the record to the Court of Appeals in the
appeal prayed by the State of Maryland in the case of
George S. Brown and others against the Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal Company of the State of Maryland
and others, and decide'd by the Court of Appeals
against the State and costs decided against the State.
