Joint Resolution authorizing subscription to Ring-
old's Index to Maryland Decisions, volume second,
With recommendation that said resolution be re-
ferred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
Resolution so referred.
Mr. Brashears, from the Committee on Temperance,
reported unfavorably,
House bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified
voters of the Fifth Election District of Queen Anne's
county to determine by ballot whether spirituous and
fermented liquors or alcoholic bitters shall be sold in
said district.
Mr. Bryan moved to substitute the bill for the un-
favorable report.
Mr. Bryan demanded the yeas and nays.
The demand was sustained.
The yeas and nays were called, and appeared as fol-
lows :

Leonard, Green, Miles, Kirk, Beeks, Bowie, of Prince
George's, Hill, Wallen, Godwin, Franklin, Hayman,
McSherry, Grove, of Frederick, Bevard, Hayward,
Stearns, Deen, Johnson, Brennan, Fox, Bowie, of
Baltimore city, Gallagher, Frinke Cornthwaite,

The report of the Committee was then adopted.
Mr. Stearns, from the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably the following order, referred to said
