1022 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 23,
General Election Law of the State of Maryland, as
the name existed prior to the passage of said chapter
538 of the Acts of Assembly of 1890; and provided,
that nothing herein contained shall be construed to
affect the said Australian Ballot System as to future
elections in its application to Charles county, but
only for the election in this Act hereinbefore provided
for; and the County Commissioners of Charles county
aforesaid are hereby empowered to appoint three
Judges of Election for each Election Precinct of said
county, whose duties shall cease and be at an end
when they shall have performed the special duties
imposed by this Act and made the returns thereof;
and the said Judges shall be governed and bound in
all respects by the duties, obligations and pen-
alties prescribed by Article 33 of the Code of Public
General Laws, as the same existed prior to the enact-
ment of said chapter 538 of the Acts of 1890, and
shall appoint clerks in conformity to said Article
33 of the Code of Public General Laws, whose duties,
obligations and penalties shall be as therein provided ;
and in appointing such Judges the County Commis-
sioners aforesaid shall select one of said Judges for
each election precinct or district in said county from
among those of a different political party from them-
selves, and also one of each Judges from those of op-
posite opinions; for removal of county seat to La
Plata, and against removal of county seat to La Plata;
and the election so to be held the voting shall be by
the official Registries of Voters for said county as
the same existed at the last general election, to be de-
livered to said Judges of Election by the Sheriff as
provided in section 29 of said Article 33, of the Code
of Public General Laws.
Which were severally read, and adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read a second
time.
Mr. Maddox, from the said Select Committee, sub-
mitted the following

referred Senate bill entitled an Act to remove the
